PROJECT: reclaiming neglected urban space through photography in Barking, East London
In this project, I reimagined neglected urban spaces through the lens of high fashion, capturing the beauty and resilience of the people who live there. By photographing residents—primarily people of color—within their environments, Using the aesthetics of fashion and photography, I aimed to challenge perceptions of urban decay and celebrate the inherent style and vibrancy within these communities, offering a new narrative on what it means for spaces—and the people within them—to be seen as valuable and beautiful.
